In light of our current sofa promotion, we thought we'd share the Tangram team's top sofa picks and why.  First up is in-house interior designer, Joanne, who chose the Gordon 495 from Walter Knoll as her favourite sofa at the moment.  Below she tells us why...

If you've been considering refreshing your home or even investing in some new key pieces of furniture, this is sure to give you that much needed bit of encouragement. Or at least some inspiration...

We're constantly reviewing the Tangram portfolio to ensure that our core principles are supported through the brands that we represent.  After our latest review we decided that there was room to expand our offering and have accepted invitations to become dealers for two great brands - the widely recognised Vitra and the Spanish independent editors, Santa & Cole.  Why these 2...?

Well... 2015 has been a very busy and exciting year so far! The contract calendar has been particularly eventful with a whole host of projects of varying scales. Luckily we have our very talented Contracts Director, Sarah, at the helm steering us to success with the creation of some truly stunning interiors.

Exciting new furniture pieces and designs have dominated much of our Salone del Mobile 2015 discussions so far.  Time for some new lighting designs to take the spotlight (sorry, couldn't resist...!)

As you may know, some of the Tangram team jetted off to Salone del Mobile furniture fair for another year of Milan madness - so much to see and so little time! After a whirlwind 3 days; Julian, Sarah and Joanne have returned with the lowdown on this year's highlights for the home...

Another year and another whirlwind 3 days in Milan for Salone del Mobile.  Sarah, our Contracts Director, notes that the fair was the usual hubbub of style, sunglasses and of course the very best in contemporary furniture and lighting!  There are lots of exciting new products for the commercial environment but upon reflection it was arguably some of the best brands that pulled it out of the bag once again.

Easter:  an excuse for many to eat inordinate amounts of chocolate.  We get our kicks elsewhere; for example in finding an excuse to showcase some lovely products that are inadvertently Easter themed...

This week, Managing Director Julian takes the Tangram Talk reigns and gives some expert advice on incorporating blind installation into the early stages of architectural planning and design...

Contemporary residential architecture displays a preference for large expanses of glass, allowing the occupiers to enjoy a great outlook and flooding the interior with natural light.  However, the cost may be a lack of privacy and the need at times to screen out excess light and heat.

We're only 8 weeks into 2015 and already seeing some outstanding new designs coming out of the European furniture fairs.  imm Cologne, Maison et Objet Paris and the Stockholm Furniture Fair welcome the very best in contemporary furniture manufacturers and their new designs have not disappointed.  Here are Tangram's favourites so far...

2015 marks the 20th year of quality contemporary furniture brand e15, and the anniversary of the company’s first product, the now iconic table BIGFOOT™.

After a lovely festive break we're very excited to be back at Tangram HQ. Why? Well you only have to scroll through the images below to understand... A new year called for a new showroom display with some brand new products! And my, does it look pretty.

T-10 days - the countdown is on to get your home Christmas-ready!  We've put together a few furnishings that could perfect your festive setting...

Swedese's Tree can add a very subtle wintery feel.  The versatile product can easily hold its own or works well with some decorative fairy lights to create a more Christmas-like setting. The  Tree is available in a variety of colours and is shown below in white in one of our show apartments for Quartermile, Edinburgh.

We're continuing our work with Quartermile in furnishing the stunning luxury show apartments.  Our most recent apartment is in the City Meadow area which is the latest phase of the development to be released.

Tangram have been working with MARK Product for many years and it is a pleasure to watch the company and brand grow stronger every year.  Founded by John Miller and Anna Hart in 2008, Mark Product is based in Penryn in Cornwall which gives the company a unique DNA.  Much of the products are designed in Cornwall and many are made there too.

Our early favourite products from the collection were the Horizon screen made in solid timber which creates fabulous shadows and is a beautiful piece, the clever Spin table with its magnetic fixings and the Arris armchair with a solid timber frame and soft cushions which is fast becoming a classic.  Recent additions which we think are going to prove very popular are as follows;

'Flag' table and bench – a combination of slab ended tables and benches in laminate with a clever mitred joint and hardwood edge, a great idea to ensure a hardy product and available in a huge range of colours. Flag-table+bench_01

In recent weeks Tangram have been busy as ever working with a wide variety of clients. We thought we'd keep you in the loop and give you a quick insight into some of the projects we've been working on.

A particularly popular product  of late has been the fabulous 'Airflake' acoustic panel from Abstracta.  With  acoustic properties and available in different colours and shapes, the composition possibilities are endless!  One client impressed by such was Standard Life who we fitted the panels for this month.
