Tangram’s Favourite Finds Part 2 – Salone del Mobile 2017

As you may have read in our previous blog, we were lucky enough to attend the magnificent Salone del Mobile 2017 this April.

Walking through what seemed like endless corridors of innovation and variety, we were left awestruck by all there was to see. What became apparent quite quickly, were a few consistent themes in furniture finishes. Soft pinks, rose-gold, brass and marble predominated, all contributing to this season’s hottest trends.

For those of you who share our love for contemporary furniture we have highlighted some of our favourite pieces below – many of which have adopted these trends, others we simply adore for their sheer style and quality.

Walter Knoll – Oki Table

Marble and geometric shapes form the fundamentals of the Oki Tables by Walter Knoll. Natural markings across the table top are described as ‘flowing branches’ and ensure that each piece is completely unique. Whilst marble is not a new trend in furniture design, combined with this delicate frame it helps create a stunning centerpiece fit for the modern home.

B&B Italia SAKé

B&B Italia’s newest collaboration with designer Piero Lissoni has us very excited indeed. Elegance, style and sophistication are just a few words that spring to mind when describing Lissoni’s work and the SAKé sofa certainly delivers on all three.  Differing consumer tastes have been carefully considered for the seating system as it offers a traditional linear sofa, a chaise longue element, addition of arms, and even the ability to transform into a sofa bed – a first in the B&B Italia range.

Lissoni has cleverly harmonised elements of both beauty and balance to craft a piece that ticks many boxes in contemporary living.

MDF Italia – Random bookcase

The Random bookcases are now available in new colours, including the soft and subtle dusty pink.

Providing innovative spacing solutions for small environments, MDF Italia refreshed a product full of character and originality.

Self – Rimadesio

Another outstanding product from Rimadesio. This elegant wall hanging unit is a further development of the Self system.

A glass cabinet with invisible hinges and screws, and an intelligent internal lighting system – crisp, clean and crafted to perfection.

STUA – Costura

The Costura sofa and armchair system has been tailored to perfection, with thin and sturdy frames, feather down pillows and a wide selection of fabric choice – this is where design meets consumer desire.

E15 – Trunk II

The stunning table by E15 sits on a solid brass base and has been crafted from a single American Walnut tree. Boasting individuality and pristine craftsmanship we were truly taken aback by the beauty of this product.

Vitra – Grand Sofà

Having always enjoyed visiting the Vitra stand at Salone del Mobile, this year we were particularly impressed for it involved the launch of the Grand Sofà – and how very grand it was.

With numerous options in fabric colours and materials; base finishes; backrest lengths and style of cushion, the Grand Sofà is extremely adaptable. Furthermore, the back ledge creates a perfect space to rest household items such as books and laptops, bringing an element of functionality so often forgotten about.

We hope you have been inspired by some of our favourite products found during this grand celebration of design.
