Rimadesio reminds us “the possibility of transparency is a key”

Tangram’s Trip to Rimadesio

Tangram recently took a group of architects to visit Rimadesio, the Italian manufacturer of sliding doors, shelving units, walk-in wardrobes and complementary furniture.

The visit started in Rimadesio’s beautiful showroom in Milan, highlighting some of the company’s most popular products as well as the new items launched at this year’s Milan Salone.

As expected, product and space in the showroom worked harmoniously.

Some products particularly caught our eye due to exceptional design and technological features.

The unit  has been developed into Self Bold, as featured at the Salone del Mobile this year – demonstrating versatility and the freedom to customise.

The group then toured the Rimadesio factory, witnessing the extraordinary care and attention given to every stage of production.

The factory showroom exhibits the entire collection with opportunity for the architects to view products in various settings and dimensions.

Flowing water was a continuous theme, graciously complementing the surrounding glass.

Glass is the main raw material for all the products in the portfolio. Huge sheets are cut to size to create doors, cabinets and tables, all bespoke, before being lacquered and assembled into the finished products.

Aura doors are a perfect example of how Rimadesio create stunning products using lacquered glass. Innovative two-way opening and patented magnetic closing systems emphasise how the brand take aesthetics and functionality to new levels.

New improvements to the sliding door system were highlighted during the visit – including a lighter and more precise sliding mechanism and new frame finishes to match panels.

The variety of finishes of glass offered in the Rimadesio collection allows for endless possibilities, and with custom made panels, exclusivity and reliability are always ensured.

The reaction to the manufacturing process and product portfolio was unanimous: a collection of products and quality of design and finish that offers a refined and contemporary solution to many aspects of living and working.

As always it was a pleasure to visit Rimadesio Headquarters, a brand we admire and look forward to specifying on future products.
