12 Jan New Year, New Showroom Pieces…

After a lovely festive break we’re very excited to be back at Tangram HQ. Why? Well you only have to scroll through the images below to understand… A new year called for a new showroom display with some brand new products! And my, does it look pretty.

First up for us to gush over is the Edward Sectional sofa from Bensen in a beautiful deep blue/purple colour.  As an expansion of the extremely successful Edward collection the large scale Sectional has an impressive presence while retaining the visual lightness and elegance of the Edward sofas.

The backrest and arms are appropriately scaled to give excellent back support without appearing oversized and heavy, while the down-filled back cushions conform to give superb comfort.  The close up image above also allows you to admire the soft wool felt fabric – perfect for lounging.

Next up is another of our favoured settings in the showroom at the moment.  The focal point is the new AURA storage unit from a less well known Spanish manufacturer.  Treku create high quality and timeless wooden products; effectively mixing retro styles with modern trends.  In the product shown above, for example, the overall design is typically retro with its wooden frame and the positioning of the legs.  However,  touches of modernity can also be seen through the on-trend yellow colour of the top box and the use of metal for the legs.

After having Charles sofas from B&B Italia in fabric on display and clients greatly appreciating both the design and aesthetics, we couldn’t resist displaying this stunning leather version.  The dark grey leather paired with the bronzed nickel painted legs work beautifully together along with the Tekla Raspberry Swirl woolen rug from Kasthall. (The latter is available in varying colour schemes and in customised lengths, widths and shapes!)

Up front we have a number of exciting new pieces.  In the corner the chess-like Farooo floor light from Moooi stylishly adds some necessary height to the setting.  The striking sofa is the Canvas – also from Dutch manufacturer Moooi – in Jacquard Old Blue fabric.

The unusual design of the Canvas sofa signifies the growing trend of using different textiles in upholstered goods.   Designed by Moooi cofounder and Artistic Director Marcel Wanders, the Canvas sofa is constructed from a steel box frame covered in foam and dacron with the varying loose cushions reflecting his artistic imagination.

Also featuring in the wider Canvas shot above are the This and That chairs from e15.  The deceptively simple side chair THIS (shown directly above in oak veneer) illustrates e15’s key philosophy in exposing and featuring elements essential to the construction of a product.

We couldn’t have a blog showcasing showroom pieces without once more highlighting the beauty of the Drop chairs and Analog table designed by Jaime Hayon for Fritz Hansen.  The table is displayed in white laminate and oak (185x105cm) with each of the chairs in the plastic shell variant. This combination is perfect for both residential interiors as well as contemporary contract furnishings.
