27 Apr Milan 2015: Highlights for the Home
As you may know, some of the Tangram team jetted off to Salone del Mobile furniture fair for another year of Milan madness – so much to see and so little time! After a whirlwind 3 days; Julian, Sarah and Joanne have returned with the lowdown on this year’s highlights for the home…
Fritz Hansen are at the top of their game; launching 2 fantastic new products and offering some creative new colours & finishes. Firstly, the new Fri armchair designed by Jaime Hayon. The Fri chair is designed as a “natural extension of the Ro chair”, one that is both more open and more sociable. Unlike the Ro, there is the option to have the feet of the Fri in the same colour as the upholstery. We predict that this will be a popular choice!
Another new upholstered product from Jaime Hayon is dining chair Sammen – Danish for ‘being together’. This chair is designed to provide ease of comfort for those nights spent socialising around the dinner table. Different fabrics and leg finishes available to suit a variety of settings.
Lastly from Fritz Hansen are the new colour options for the modern classic Series 7 chair. Created by Danish artist Tal R, there are 9 new colours to choose from along with new monochrome options in white, black, blue and orange.
Milan 2015 highlight: new Costura sofa from STUA. Beautifully manufactured, extremely comfortable and fantastically priced! We’ve already ordered ours for the showroom. Also from STUA are the new Solapa tables which incorporate an anti-fingerprint technology making them not only easy on the eye, but also on the cleaning efforts!
New innovative 3° Regal shelving from Zeitraum is made entirely without glue or screws and is very impressive in person! Machined entirely from solid wood, 3° Regal is freely extendable in all directions creating an extremely versatile shelving system. Available in a variety of sizes and in either oak, colour stained oak or walnut!
Rimadesio have added to their repertoire of beautiful products with the new Tray coffee table. Like most Rimadesio products, you can choose from a wide range of lacquered glass colours to suit your setting. Also available with marble or wood tops.
Last but not least is the new occasional version of the popular Reverse table from Andreu World. It’s hard to capture just how small and cute this table is but you can get an idea from the left image taken at Andreu World’s stand in Milan.
