20th Anniversary of Manila Chair from Andreu World

The Manila Chair was born in 1999. It is a current classic that turns 20 years old.
It transmits serenity and nobility. It is a solid and honest design that has adapted
over time to become an icon.

Over time it has evolved and grown to become a large family of chairs, fundamental in many projects because it perfectly adapts a classical language to the current context. Designed by Lievore Altherr Molina, the collection includes chairs, armchairs, stools and lounge chairs.
Made of solid beech and oak, Manila is timeless comfort.

Manila expresses the value of time. Family and tradition are concepts that remain alive in the daily life of Andreu World and that, in many cases, are part of our shared project generation after generation.  We celebrate two decades with Manila, a large family of chairs that has evolved into a contemporary classic.

At Tangram, we selected a bespoke version of the Manila Chair in the icon, Panmure House project,
within Edinburgh’s Old Town – a once hub of the
Scottish Enlightenment Movement in the 18th Century.

A perfect example of the Manila’s ability to complement and re-energised a traditional environment with contemporary contract furniture inspired elements.
